Elm Rock Farm

Overview

We are first generation farmers working to build a vegetable market garden from scratch on our 1/4 section of paradise in Treaty 3 Territory ~ Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba.

Preserving the biodiversity of plants, animals, and insects on our land is of the utmost importance to us, which is why we grow our produce on a small scale without the use of synthetic chemicals or fertilizers and with minimal tillage. We are always working to learn more about the land on which we farm so that we can cultivate a symbiotic relationship with our land. On this website, we will share with you some of the lessons we have learned along the way as well as plant identification tips, tricks, and facts to spark your creativity and help you connect with Manitoba flora and fauna.

Returning to the land and reviving the skills of the homesteaders of the past is our passion. We love working with our hands; in the soil, in the kitchen, on the pottery wheel, with reclaimed barn board from our farm, and with a variety of fibre mediums. In addition to our fresh vegetables, we offer a selection of hand crafted goods from pickles and preserves to tapestries and macramé art, as well as practical home goods using pottery and macramé techniques.
